With climate change increasingly threatening our planet’s destiny, many of us are feeling overwhelmed and unsure about a way to make a difference. Whether it is the acute climate activities, affecting wildlife habitats, or rising sea stages, the influences of weather change are undeniable and urgent. But what if there was a way to channel our worries into meaningful movement while doing something we like?

Enter PUBG MOBILE’s ultra-modern initiative: Play for Green. This new marketing campaign aims to show the gaming global right into a platform for climate motion, addressing the environmental disaster head-on via engaging game play and actual-world effect. In partnership with Playing for the Planet and supported by using the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Play for Green seeks to teach thousands and thousands of players about weather exchange and motivate them to make a contribution to international conservation efforts.

Climate Change Comes to Erangel: The Ruins of Erangel

The Play for Green marketing campaign introduces gamers to two new maps, The Ruins of Erangel: Sandstorm and The Ruins of Erangel: Exploration, designed with climate exchange subject matter. These maps are more than just new battlegrounds; they offer a glimpse right into a future tormented by excessive environmental degradation.

Created in collaboration with climate professional Professor Mark Maslin from University College London, those maps depict Erangel as its appearance after a century of climate change. The Ruins of Erangel: Sandstorm demands gamers to live in harsh, sandstorm-ravaged surroundings, checking out their abilities and resilience against environmental risks. Meanwhile, The Ruins of Erangel: Exploration provides a narrative-driven experience, guiding players through a story of Erangel’s transformation due to climate change, with informative prompts at each checkpoint to deepen their understanding of the issue.

Take Action in-Game with ‘Run for Green’

From September 11 to September 24, PUBG MOBILE players can participate in the Run for Green event, where every step taken in the game contributes to real-world environmental projects. By running in PUBG MOBILE’s Classic modes, players help protect over 350,000 square meters of vital land in Indonesia, Pakistan, and Brazil.

This initiative supports several impactful projects:

  • Cerrado Biome Project in Brazil, preserving a biodiverse savannah crucial for carbon storage.
  • Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve Project in Indonesia, protecting orangutans and promoting sustainable practices.
  • Delta Blue Carbon-1 Project in Pakistan, regenerating mangroves to combat climate change and protect biodiversity.

Participants will also unlock exclusive in-game items like the Preservation Garden, which features endangered plants and trees, raising awareness about these species through interactive displays.

Engage Creatively: World of Wonder Green Creative Contest

PUBG MOBILE is also inviting players to showcase their creativity through the World of Wonder Green Creative Contest. Running from September 12 to September 25, this contest encourages players to use the new Ruins of Erangel template and climate-positive items to create unique maps. Winning entries will be featured in the game, and the best creators will share in a $12,500 prize pool. Additionally, if players collectively play the official Play for Green maps and creator-submitted maps more than 10 million times, PUBG MOBILE will double its support for the environmental projects.

By integrating weather exchange themes into their gameplay, PUBG MOBILE not only entertains but additionally conjures up thousands and thousands to take tangible steps towards a greener destiny. Through these progressive initiatives, the sport demonstrates that we will all make contributions to protecting our planet, one play at a time.
